A bit about the role

As payroll assistant, you will play a key role in our Payroll function, ensuring our people are paid accurately and on time, whilst providing an excellent payroll service to the business. You will be assisting the Payroll Manager with the day to day running of the Payroll function, processing payroll from start to finish, assisting with Payroll queries and ensuring accuracy at all times.​

As Payroll Assistant you will:​

• Look after the end-to-end process for all our new starters and leavers before the BACS is processed.​
• Keep all team changes up-to-date from a payroll perspective including amending contracts and issuing statutory documents.​
• Check exception reports and answer queries from team members and third parties using your legislation knowledge. ​
• Act as the ‘go-to’ person on requests for pay information from team members and third parties. ​
• Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records​
• Calculate manual payslips when required

A bit about you

• Experienced. You will have previous payroll experience under your belt, ideally within a high volume, fast-paced environment. ​
• Skilled. You will have payroll systems experience. Knowledge of PSEnterprise or Workday HR and Payroll will be a huge advantage. ​
• A team player. You will always go the extra mile for the team and this will be reflected in your relationships across the rest of the business.​
• Organised and proactive. You are able to multi-task, prioritise and work to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail​
• All over the numbers. You are analytical and results driven, with strong attention to detail​
• A problem solver. You are able to apply different ways of thinking in different situations​
