Japanese - EMEA Communications Specialist - Mitsubishi

Purpose of the job:

Under the direction of the MHI-EMEA Communications Director, the EMEA Communications Specialist will support the development and execution of external corporate communications, including paid, earned, social and lead generation, as well as internal communications activities for MHI-EMEA and within MHI Group across the EMEA region. The EMEA Communications Specialist should be willing to learn the business and culture of MHI Group, and to develop a deep understanding step by step. The specialist will need to cooperate closely with colleagues throughout the EMEA region, MHI Group Corporate communicators in the US and Singapore, and MHI HQ Global Communications Group in Tokyo.

General Duties

  • Specialist will be engaged in hands-on activities as follows.

Content Creation

  • Assist in developing the corporate narrative and specific messaging.
  • Coordinate with agency partners to manage the production of assets such as white-papers, byline articles, podcasts, thought leadership pieces, blog posts, website and social media copy for corporate channels and senior leadership.

External Communications — Paid

  • Execute paid activities such as participation in sponsored events, and run digital campaigns (coordinating with agency partners and targeting EMEA region)
  • Support paid activities led by MHI Global Communications Group.

External Communications — Earned

  • Draft, review and edit press releases
  • Assist in handling media relations for MHI-EMEA (e.g. distribute press releases in the region, arrange interviews, answer questions from journalists etc.) in coordination with agency partners.
  • Assist in handling media relations for MHI Group companies in EMEA region

External Communications — Social

  • Draft and post social media messages from MHI-EMEA's corporate and executives’ personal channels.

External Communications — Lead Generation

  • Execute digital communication for lead generation campaigns at MHI-EMEA.
  • Support lead generation led by MHI Global Communications Group.

Internal Communications — Group Company Networking

  • Organise & facilitate meetings within the network of MHI Group companies in EMEA

Internal Communications

  • Execute internal communications activities within MHI-EMEA and across EMEA region (e.g. periodical staff meetings of MHI-EMEA, internal newsletters etc.)

Other

  • Administer relationship and workflow with PR and content agencies.
  • Willingness and ability to travel across EMEA and to other place such as Japan, the US, Singapore, etc.
Required Skills:
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in marketing or communications at an agency or in-house
  • Fluent English essential. Knowledge of additional languages (particularly German, French, Arabic or Japanese) is a bonus.
  • Exceptional writing and communications skills, with the ability to distil complex products and services into compelling points
  • Both creative and analytical in nature
  • Broadly interested in science and technology, energy transition, media

Education: Degree level qualification (or similar) in marketing, communications, or related field of study
Location: 566 Chiswick High Road, Building 11, W4 5YS, London
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 to 17:00 (one hour break), 35 hours per week
Position: Full-time, permanent
