Intelligence Specialist (operations) - U.S. Army DCIPS - Doha

Job Summary:

About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-APF-W4VYAA INSCOM - MISSION SUPPORT CMD, G-6 US ARMY INTELLIGENCE AND SECURITY CMD, MISSION SUPPORT COMMAND, STABLE SHADOW PROGRAM, FORT BELVOIR.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the coordination, planning, collection, evaluation, fusion, analysis, production, and dissemination of all-source intelligence and counterintelligence at all echelons.
  • Develop and analyse order of battle data using information accumulated from maps and intelligence derived from a variety of sources.
  • Utilise expert briefing techniques and procedures necessary to inform staff, senior leaders and non-agency audiences to support the agency?s issues and positions.
  • Develop Information papers, briefings, and other products to brief management and higher headquarters.

Requirements

Conditions of Employment

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Emergency Essential employees must be exempted from military mobilisation or recall obligations by being placed in the Standby Reserve or other appropriate action. (Please see additional Information).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
  • This position is designated as emergency-essential (E-E). (Please see additional Information).
  • This position requires the employee to sign a mobility agreement under the provisions of the agency mobility program.
  • A medical examination and immunisation screening are required.
  • This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. (Please see additional Information).
  • Position may require employee to wear uniform and/or protective clothing.
  • Will be expected to live in field or austere conditions.
  • May be required to work irregular shifts/hours.

Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organisations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience equivalent to the GG/GS-13 that prepared you to do this job.

  • Specialise experience is defined as experience which includes developing and coordinating intelligence operations and support.
  • This definition of specialise experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the Federal Service.
  • Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations.
  • This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled.
  • This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organisations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analysing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organisation(s) for and methods of collecting and analysing intelligence data.

Note: Creditable experience may include military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency so long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower grade in the series.
