Data and Analytics Transformation Directorate (DAT) is the Bank’s centre of expertise for compilation, dissemination and publication of regulatory and statistical data, promoting innovation and quality to support analysis, policy and decision making by the Bank’s Committees, UK government departments and international organisations

Data is collected from banks and buildings societies, credit unions, insurance companies and regulated mortgage lenders and administrators. This takes place via 35 statistical collections and over 200 regulatory collections.

Successfully achieving the Bank’s mission depends crucially on our use of data and analytics, through their role in informing the Bank's decisions, its operations, and the information it provides to the public.

he Bank is committed to designing and delivering a world class data and regtech strategy and Data and Analytics Transformation Directorate (DAT) has been created to lead and coordinate this. DAT comprises of 3 divisions: Data and Statistics Division (DSD); Data Strategy Implementation Division (DSID); and Advanced Analytics Division (AA).

Data Strategy Implementation Division (DSID)

Within DAT, a new division called Data Strategy Implementation Division (DSID) leads the definition and implementation of the Bank's data and analytics strategy. This strategy touches on practically all functions of the Bank, due to the central importance of data and analysis in our daily work. It also affects the firms from whom we collect data under statutory powers, the domestic and international official sector bodies with whom we share our data and analytics, and the public who receive data and analytics outputs published by the Bank.

Through the 2020s we intend to transform the way the Bank defines and collects data, the way it manages data and its capacity to analyse it, to make our use of data and analytics as insightful, reliable and efficient as possible. In addition, DSID leads the operation of the shared data and analytics services that mean colleagues can harness the power of data and analytics in their ‘business as usual (BAU)’ work today.

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in a new and busy Directorate and would suit a PA who is looking to develop their career and experience working in a busy office. The job holder will working directly with the Head of Division (HOD) and would be responsible for their diary, inbox and to-do list, be part of the Division’s senior leadership team, attend meetings and take minutes. The candidate will need to be pro-active, flexible and self-motivated. Strong communication and organisational skills are vital for this role. The job holder may be asked to help the HOD with recruitment rounds, advertising roles and setting up interviews; and would be expected to liaise with DAT Executive Director's Office and other Executive Directors offices around the Bank. This is a busy role working for a new and busy Head of Division.

In addition to providing PA support to the Head of DSID, the job holder may be asked to help with requests from Senior Managers within the Division and may be asked to cover for the PA of the Executive Director of Data and Analytics Transformation and other HODs in the Directorate during periods of leave.

As the successful applicant, you will:

  • Manage the diary of the Head of DSID, arranging and prioritising meetings appropriately to effectively maximise the use of time, resolving diary clashes and be able to make last minute diary changes when requested.
  • Use and have good knowledge of OneNote, import calendar appointments, ensure meeting papers are collated and available for the HoD, track actions and follow up where appropriate
  • Ensure the correct papers/information is available for meetings in advance and be able to the right people ask for papers when not available.
  • Make best use of HOD’s time, including using sound judgement for attendance at meetings, delegating to senior management where appropriate and managing the diary effectively.
  • Manage the inbox of the Head of Division, including removing unwanted/junk mail, categorising items for action/reading and forwarding on actions to the appropriate Senior Managers when the HOD may be out of the office.
  • Maintain and keep on top of the action list, ensuring actions are completed in a timely manner and marking when complete.
  • Create timely agendas for meetings, attend meetings and take minutes/action points when required
  • Provide ad hoc cover for the secretarial team and Executive Director’s PA
Role Requirements
Minimum (Essential) Criteria
  • Good IT skills including Outlook, OneNote, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
  • Experience of diary and inbox management.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and last minute requests; prioritise accordingly and delegate where appropriate.
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written, with all levels of staff across the Bank, and external contacts.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion at all times
  • Ability to self-motivate and work proactively, using own initiative
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Flexibility in approach to a changing and busy environment

This specific role offers a base salary of £24,225 - £30,690 (subject to experience and skillset)

The total package also includes:
