Logistics Specialist - EMERSON Middle East and Africa, Dubai

Job description:

As part of the Emerson Automation Solutions Group Level team, the Logistics Specialist will act as the second-in-command to the Logistics Leader and assist the various Business Units with day to day shipping activities when needed. The team is looking for a knowledgeable and skilled professional who is used to a complex and fast-paced environment can take complete ownership for consolidating MEA Logistics data and conducting analyses and interpreting data to determine ways to improve our Logistics operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Responsibilities
  • Working with Business units’ teams to implement and/or support Supply Chain Optimisation programs/projects.
  • Developing reports, metrics, and other solutions needed to lead Logistics operations programs.
  • Analysing logistics data and report monthly on Carriers Metrics performance and spend measures.
  • Developing and maintain freight rates database for use by supply chain departments to uncover and establish the most economical modes of transportation.
  • Providing ongoing analyses in areas such as shipping patterns, volumes and transportation spend.
  • Writing or revising standard operating procedures for logistics processes, country shipping profiles and Updates MEA Logistics Play book.
  • Communicating with or supervise service providers performance to ascertain ways to optimise service levels.
  • Keeping a track of industry standards, trends, or practices to identify developments in logistics planning or execution.
  • Recognising and accepting HSE Roles & Responsibilities as defined in Emerson’s Company Procedures.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Logistics or related field.
  • 5 - 7 years of Logistics experience within a multinational company within the MEA region.
  • Demonstrated experience using data to form decisions & analysis to drive improvement initiatives, building reports and meaningful metrics tracking.
  • Experience in implementing and using Logistic software, Transportation Management System (TMS) Transportation Management, or similar systems.
  • Excellent Communication Skills, proficient in spoken and written English and Arabic.
