Logistics Supervisor Call-off - Unilever - Dubai

Main purpose of the role:
Responsibility of booking containers and trucks, fully responsible of the communication with the shipping lines and transporters.

This role reports direct line to Gulf Transportation Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receiving full container and truck requirement from transportation team.
  • Send full month requirements to shipping lines and transporters for reservation.
  • Book containers as per required loading time and location and makes sure containers are delivered to the loading location.
  • Manage port to warehouse transportation to land containers to loading points on time.
  • Calling-off Trucks as per required loading dates and truck type.
  • Following up with transporters on the truck and container delivery times lines till check in at loading point.
  • Respond to routine enquiries concerning trucks and container availability.
  • Track the status of containers and trucks with transporters and communicate issues and provide solutions.
  • Monitor and update performance indicators (KPI) for transporters with the support of transportation specialist.
  • Maintain communication daily with warehouse and transportation specialists in order to respond on their needs.
  • Support Transportation Manager in various optimisation projects.
  • Track down all containers and trucks till they reach to loading point with all related documentation.
  • Be responsible for full consistency of transportation Ways of Working.
  • Full monthly reporting on the details per shipment. (Call-off time and date, delivery time…etc)
  • Escalate all business issues on time and with proper details for fast action and decision making.
Professional Skills:

ESSENTIAL

  • University degree in Business Administration / Engineering / Logistics
  • Fluent in English and in Arabic.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Excellent communication skills

PREFERRED:

  • SAP or any ERP system knowledge is preferable
  • Good working knowledge of Supply Chain Processes
Experience Required:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in similar positions in Logistics / Planning
