Commercial Analyst - Svitzer [MAERSK], Dubai

We are looking for a Commercial Analyst to join our AMEA team, to be responsible for financial modelling and analysis to support the regional commercial strategy. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Analyst you will utilise your skills with financially modelling, risk analysis and multiple valuation methodologies to play an active part in delivering on a strong growth agenda and delivering tailored solutions in a variety of geographies and to many different customers.

What will you do

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Develop financial models for new contracts and extensions, tender document production, assisting with the development of proposals and quotes in addition to helping with developing customer value propositions and market research.
  • Perform financial analysis and feasibility studies and present findings to the regional management team on the viability and attractiveness of strategic projects.
  • Support the capture of market intelligence and project-relevant data, including project pipeline, competitors and client overviews.
  • Provide analytics for targeted markets and/or opportunities.
  • Support relationships with clients and commercial stakeholders.
  • Liaise with other company function to evaluate business opportunities as well as existing market positions from commercial, financial and strategic point of view.
  • Support the preparation of compelling business cases, including writing memos and developing presentations to assist management in the decision-making process.
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

This position offers various career learning and development opportunities.

  • Will allow you to gain experience in executing business capture methodology by performing detailed customer research, data collection, analysis and solutions modelling for best-in-class tender proposals.
  • Acquire in-depth understanding of emerging markets in Africa, Middle East and Asia (AMEA Region).
  • Work alongside our Commercial and operational managers in the frontline by providing support for projects and initiatives across Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
  • Play an active part in delivering on a strong growth agenda and deliver tailored solutions in a variety of geographies and to many different customers.
Who we are looking for

To be successful in this position, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred but not required.
  • High level of skill with financial modelling, risk analysis, and multiple valuation methodologies.
  • Have 1-3 years working experience in corporate finance, business development, tender management and/or consulting.
  • Must be a natural collaborator with the ability to build and develop strong business relationships with colleagues from all functions.
  • Hold the appetite for expanding areas of expertise and enjoy facing new tasks and challenges.
  • Finance or Economist background preferably with experience in different countries and continents.
  • Have a high personal drive, high level of integrity, are structured, result oriented and proactive.
  • Written and oral fluency in English is a key requirement of the position. Fluency in Arabic and/or French is a plus.
  • Highly competent in MS Office.
