2024 Off-cycle Intern Program - UBS Global Banking MENA, Dubai

2024 Off-cycle Intern Program - Global Banking Middle East and North Africa based in Dubai starting June 2024 for 6 months.

During your internship, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Understand how our clients, including corporates, institutions, private equity and governments, operate businesses and consider strategic objectives;
  • Be involved in and contribute to the team providing M&A advice and execution, including spinoffs, takeovers, exchange offers, and formation of joint ventures;
  • Get to know capital markets through IPOs, capital raising, rights issuances, secondary offerings, among other situations;
  • Interact with the equities platform to get an insight into the investor community views and trends; and
  • Learn about debt capital markets including corporate and emerging market bonds.
What you’ll be doing:
  • Collect and analyse financial and operating information pertaining to companies, industries and governmental entities;
  • Build and maintain financial models, including trading peers and precedent transactions benchmarks;
  • Conduct industry and product research
  • Draft internal and client-facing presentations in the context of pitches, executions and other situations; and
  • Attend team discussions and client meetings, where you may be asked to deliver parts of a presentation
Your team
  • You’ll be working in our Investment Banking division which is based in Dubai, and is part of UBS’s Global Banking business
  • The team provides coverage, advisory, capital markets and financing solutions for corporate, financial institutions and sponsor clients
Your expertise

You need to be in the penultimate or final year of your degree, or recently graduated but no more than 6 months from the start date of the internship. In addition, you need to have or be on track for a 2:1 (UK grading system) or the equivalent in your first undergraduate degree.

  • You have an ability to work as part of a global team, with a self-starting approach to problem solving, quantitative skills, reliability, and enthusiasm
  • You have strong analytical and numerical abilities that put you at ease with financial data
  • You are results-driven, and perform well under pressure and against tight deadlines
  • You have a strong academic background and intellectual curiosity
  • You are fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages would be an advantage
  • You articulate complex ideas simply and summarise them effectively
  • You are committed to excellence in your work and maintain high professional and ethical standards
  • Previous investment banking / corporate finance experience is an advantage
